Artists Statement:

What inspired me to write this is that sometimes I have been different from people. But even when I was really sad, there was always someone there for me.

The book “Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox” by the New York Times #1 Best-Selling Author Eoin Colfer was an astonishing book. The reasons that it is astonishing is because the book was so well written that it took me two weeks to get the book since so many people wanted to read the book. The beginning is kind of nice because it starts with Artemis playing with his brothers Myles and Beckett and that is kind of sweet(He got two brothers in the last review if you didn’t read it well here)but on the next page, it shows that Angeline is very sick and she is a very important person to Artemis and if she died then I would have been emotional. I was kind of nervous that she would die. I liked that Artemis was brave enough to go back in time to save a lemur that he was the reason that the species got extinct. Though I was annoyed th

at he was the reason that the silky sifaka lemur went extinct. I was also surprised that Foaly got married to Cabbaline during the three year period that Artemis, and Captain Holly Short, and N˚1 were stuck in Limbo. I also feel very sad that Artemis makes Holly believe that she was the reason that his mother is sick. I like the concern of Foaly that if they make even one mistake when going back in time, they could create a time paradox.

I think it was funny that because Artemis is the younger one and Holly is the older one, the reason for this is because when they went back in time, Artemis was the one that aged and Holly was the one that became younger. It was kind of funny that when Artemis said to just secretly take the lemur and they the moment they wanted to get the lemur, Butler(younger Butler) caught them and put them inside a trunk. Though when Mulch Diggums(also younger), when he was still a criminal helped them escape, I knew that Mulch would be a good person in any age. But when Artemis gets attacked and injured by an enraged gorilla when they attempt to free the lemur, Holly saves him and kisses him on the cheek, that was probably embarrassing for Artemis. I don’t know the right decision when Artemis gives the lemur to his younger self when he threatens to kill it himself. But that is the weird part because if he doesn’t give the lemur, it dies. Also, if he does give it, the lemur still dies. But still, Holly and Artemis manage to intercept with younger Artemis and take the lemur back which is good. Then when Holly gets captured and sold to Dr. Damon Kronski(leader of the Extinctionists) as a replacement for the lemur.

When this happened, I got scared she would die but luckily Artemis saved her by talking the other members to prove that Holly was worth nothing and she was not a fairy. But when Artemis falls into the pit after he manages to save Holly, there is fire and my heart(not literally)jumped but I kept reading and found out just like Artemis that the fires were holographic. On the next page, Artemis meets his archnemesis, Opal Koboi(younger self) and realizes that Dr. Kronski had been mesmerized. I realize too like Artemis that Opal mesmerized Kronski to get the Silky Sifaka Lemur for her because she was collecting their brain fluids so she could enhance her powers. I was happy when Artemis and Holly escaped with the lemur and I also liked the name they gave the lemur which was Jayjay. I thought that once they got back to the present to heal his mother that they would be safe.

But when I found out that Koboi possessed his mother and that’s how she was in the first place, I got mad at Opal. When I was reading, and the Opal that was possessing Artemis’s mothers body caught Artemis, I thought he was doomed for. But when he said “you wouldn’t hurt a ten year old right?” I knew something was up because he was 14 years old in this book so when I read more and it revealed that the present Artemis was actually free. I was so happy when I found this out and when Artemis tranquilized Opal(not sure which Opal) and ran and is forced to land after being attacked by Opal, I got a little worried. When Artemis tricked Opal, I knew that I shouldn’t be worried anymore. He tricked Opla by pretending that he had the lemur but it was actually his brother’s toy and she got buried in an explosion. I was happy that his mom knew everything that happened to her and she wasn’t worried. When Artemis(past) woke up, he remembered something about fairies and it is cool to know that this is how his obsession became fairies and how all his adventures began.

The book “Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony” by The New York Times #1 Best-Selling Author Eoin Colfer was an amazing book. I was surprised by how the great criminal mastermind had become a do-gooder until I kept reading and I think it is a good thing that he became good but there was a little less mischief in the book and I was a little sad. I like that N°1(pronounced “Number 1”) was a good demon rather than all the rest of the demons who followed N’zall(Known as Leon Abbot after getting the book from the humans when he got captured) who was their leader only because when he got captured by the humans, he got the book(the book is “Lady Heatherington Smythe’s Hedgerow”) and the crossbow that he “took” from the humans. I thought that Leon took it but later it was found out that Minerva Paradizo(a girl who wanted to win the noble piece prize but was evil but turned good) gave the book and the crossbow but when Leon went back, he lied and said he was their savior and said he fought the humans and he forcefully took the book and crossbow. The other Demons believed him and thought that he was their savior. They also believed him because he stole the great Demon Warlock’s magic(Qweffor is the demon) when he and Bludwin broke the circle when the all the Demon Warlocks were making a spell. Since he did that, he took some of their magic and he can mesmerize the other demons into making him the leader. Overall, I like the character because of his vicious attidude and I like that he looks scary but I don’t really like that he is a liar and a villain but in my opinion, he is a good villain.

I liked that Artemis Fowl traveled to Limbo and it was kind of funny to see that what they thought was only two hours, it was actually 3 years. I also liked that when Foaly was thinking and had nothing to do, he was thinking about Caballine, his “crush” he would think about her and then think that he should be working which is funny and kind of heartbreaking at the same time because he has to work so much. When Holly got stabbed by Leon Abbot, I just stopped reading and I could not believe it. But I was relieved when Artemis went back in time and used a special type of gun to stop Leon Abbot from killing Holly but without killing him and I was kind of surprised when Holly did not remember any of what happened but at the same time kind of relieved that she does not know anything about what happened because she would but probably get emotional and that would have probably taken ten minutes to read and I would probably cried. I was confused and heartbroken when Artemis froze and did not go to Holly when she was stabbed but relieved when he saved her when he went back in time.

I also felt bad for N°1 because he got kidnapped twice. One, by Minerva Paradizo, and two, by Billy Kong. Now you might be wondering who Billy Kong is because I kind of forgot to tell who he is but it has no more worries because now I will tell you who he is. He is one of Minerva Paradizo’s henchmen and hates demons because his brother would come late and he would say that they were fighting demons and for a while he believed it and even after his brother died but he found out that he got beaten up by someone for hanging out with his girlfriend. He felt betrayed by his brother and he had serious problems and could not make relationships with people. But when N°1 came, he wanted to destroy him and the other demons because he thought that his brother was actually killed by demons. I like that Artemis made him think that he had the upper hand but it was actually Artemis who had the upper hand and gave hints to where they should make their bargain. I also thought it was funny that by the time Holly and Artemis came back, Butler had a beard and was depressed and it was funny when Artemis realized that he had two brothers named Myles and Beckett. This is why I think that this book is good.

The book "Artemis Fowl" by the New York Times #1 Bestselling Author Eoin Colfer because it was about an interesting boy named Artemis Fowl, he was interesting because he was smart and was rich. He is not a normal 12 year-old but is a criminal mastermind. What is more interesting is that, he lives by the line “Gold Is Power.” Also his father(Artemis Fowl I) has his own criminal empire and is one of the most famous criminals so I am not that surprised. Anyways I should probably get to the part where he kidnaps a fairy for ransom. The unfortunate elf that got kidnapped by Artemis Fowl II is Captain Holly Short of the LEPRecon Unit (Lower Elements Police Reconnaissance). I fell a lot of sympathy for Domovoi Butler who is more commonly known as Butler and which Artemis does not know his first name and only finds out his name in Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code. My sympathy for this specific character is that he must be carried by his young master Artemis Fowl II in his not-so-friendly shenanigans. When Captain Holly Short gets kidnapped, a lot of drama happens between the Fowl and Fairies. Commander Julius Root cares about Captain Holly Short and even leads the LEPRetrieval Team (Lower Elements Police Retrieval team) team when he usually just sits and gives orders as a normal commander but the person that need to be retrieved was Holly Short, he led the mission to help finding her. The tech-genius Foaly was also very important character as he was the technical genius for the LEP and makes a lot of gear for the officers and makes weapons too. Mulch Diggums is a very important character and it would be bad if he was left out so I must add him to this post. Like in every book of the Artemis Fowl series, Mulch calls himself the savior of Artemis and Holly in their every adventure and is also a very funny dwarf.

Artemis Fowl deserve his name as a criminal mastermind since he did kidnap a fairy and fairies are usually fairy tales in children stories but Artemis actually kidnapped a real magical elf. Usually most people do not even believe in fairies and even if they do, fairies do not show up in human places as to the rule or perhaps law that fairies must not engage in human situations unless they are invited by the humans themselves. Although Artemis managed to actually kidnap an actual fairy, it was basically in his blood to do that since the Fowls and the Fairies have been friends for a long time, not exactly friends at the beginning but they worked through and now friends and even have a phrase which is pretty cool: “Fowl and Fairy, Friends Forever.” I feel really bad for Captain Holly Short because unfortunately is the victim of the plot. I can not believe that Butler fought a real troll and even managed to knock it out but was stopped by Holly Short before he killed it and it was also cool to see Butler fight a troll. Honestly this book was amazing and awesome to read. Trolls are very strong and the fairy people fear them. Butler is the only one who has fought a troll and won. Artemis has a lot of information on fairies since he managed to kidnap a fairy. He was also very smart since he managed to get The Book of the People and cure a Sprite(fairy group) at the same time.

This was one of the best books in the Artemis Fowl series in my opinion. This is because the book is the first book and it has a lot of mischief and a lot plotting. Honestly in my opinion, without this book, the other books would not be as good. I like that Artemis is always serious when he is doing business but I guess that it is a Fowl trait. I sometimes think that he is smarter than Albert Einstein because when he thought of making Juliet Butler wearing sunglasses when ever she went to check on Captain Holly Short so she could not mesmerize her, I thought he could think of anything. But when Holly told Juliet to take off her glasses, I was kind of surprised she did that because once she did that, Holly mesmerized her into letting her out of the prison. I also liked the way that Holly decided to mesmerize her by making her think that there was a giant TV. I also like that Commander Root cares about Holly like she is his daughter. Even tough there is an ancient spell that fairies cannot go in human places without invitation, Commander Root still lead a Retrieval team to rescue Holly even without invitation. I was also surprised by how Artemis and the Butlers escaped the Time-Stop and the Bio-Bomb at the same time. When I kept reading and found out that he drugged himself and the Butlers because he found out if he changed his state of consciousness, he would be able to escape the Time-Stop.

The book "Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception" by the New York Times #1 Best-Selling Author Eoin Colfer was good because Artemis Fowl and Butler re-united with the fairies after their last mission when Foaly mind-wiped them. I also liked that they got their memories back. However, I was pretty sad when Artemis went back to being a criminal after being mind-wiped. Artemis gave a chip that contained all their memories before they got mind-wiped to Mulch Diggums, and I also like that Mulch gave it to Butler and he immediately remembered all his memories with the fairies as soon as Artemis said his real name which is Domovoi. I still remember that after Butler almost died and after he got healed Artemis said that after this adventure their would be no need for bodyguards in the previous book of the series but after Foaly mind-wiped them, Artemis had no idea that he said that and Butler had to keep being Artemis’s bodyguard. I am not saying that I hate Foaly but I just don’t like that Foaly mind-wiped and that maybe he could have just thought more about it because when Artemis went back to being a criminal after losing his memories. I liked that Mulch kept scratching his gold medallion that Artemis gave that was actually a chip that kept all of their memories and if he didn’t do that then Artemis and Butler would never have gotten their memories back. I liked that Butler got his memories when Artemis said Domovoi which is clever.

I felt bad for the Brill brothers because they had to follow strict rules by their master, Opal Koboi and she was really mean to them. I am really confused and angry that Opal Koboi just wanted to get revenge on Holly and Artemis and the people that helped them imprison her. I can understand why she would want revenge but the thing I don’t understand is why she wants to hurt innocent people, I know that she is a criminal but she doesn’t have to hurt so many people. I hated Opal Koboi. Even though I didn’t like the character Opal Koboi, I have to admit that I was impressed that she managed to make a clone and still escape. I give credit that she put her DNA in her clone so they would still think she was in her coma. When she first put her DNA in her clone, I was confused until it said that she did that cause the doctor checks the DNA everyday to see if she was still the same person, I was pretty impressed. Even though I said that I don’t like Opal Koboi, I still like her in a few ways because this book is great and every book deserves to have a good villain. I think that Opal Koboi deserved to be in this book just like she deserved to be in the second book of this series titled “Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident” which I also wrote a post about.

I liked that Mulch helped Holly to get Butler to help them even though he is a criminal and escapes from prison and then runs from Julius Root. I was sad when Commander Root died and Captain Holly Short got the blame for killing him when Opal was the person who actually killed Commander Root. I really didn’t like the character Commander Ark Sool because he actually thought Holly Short killed Commander Root when Commander Root was like a father to Holly. I still liked that Foaly would not believe that Holly would kill Commander Root. Foaly would not believe that Holly killed him and I like that. I am kind of surprised that Ark Sool got the job as Commander because he thought that Captain Holly Short killed Commander Root and I really hated his behavior. I was confused when Opal Koboi sprayed a type of spray and Artemis and Holly had a lot of spray on them which should not be a problem right? Well trolls could not resist and would tear them up to smithereens when they smelt it. I was really confused when that happened and thought that maybe Opal was just making a joke but I got worried that I also like that when she said that it was a spray that trolls could not resist the smell and I thought that Holly and Artemis were doomed but fortunately they had quick thinking and I am very happy that they were smart in dangerous situations.

The book "Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code" by the New York Times #1 Bestselling Author Eoin Colfer was a good book to read. The reasons are when Butler died from a gunshot that was meant for Artemis, Artemis was devastated and even put Butler in the freezer so he could survive. When Artemis asks the fairies to heal him, the fairies made a choice to heal him (I am glad that they made that choice). It was funny when Holly said that Artemis just kept getting in trouble and getting others hurt. I am happy that Butler trusted Artemis so much that he told him his name when Artemis was with Butler when he was shot. That might not sound that cool but in Madame Ko(Butler and Juliet’s tutor to be a bodyguard) said that they could not tell their real name. Butler said that his name was Domovoi and that was one way of saying that he trusted Artemis a lot. When I first read the part where Butler got shot, I couldn’t believe it and I was emotional but when I read the next part where Artemis is really sad and I got more emotional but then Artemis decided to at least try and save Butler. I liked that he would not give up on Butler even when Butler’s old partner said “He was a great man” but Artemis kept insisting that “He is a great man” and kept using his brain to think about what he should do next to try and help him. As I said before I am very glad that the fairies healed Butler the best they could and I am happy they managed that except for the side effect of him aging 15 years.

I am very impressed by Artemis because he put an eternity code on his supercomputer and he is the only one who could unlock it. I like Artemis’s friendship with Butler because Butler was Artemis’s bodyguard since birth and I like that they trust each other. I also like that when Butler got shot while protecting Artemis, Artemis used his brain to figure out a way to help Butler survive until he was fully healed. I like Artemis’s Supercomputer called the C Cube. I liked that before they even went to Spiro Needle(Jon Spiro owns it), they had a whole plan. I liked that Artemis took his time in there when Jon found them. I was confused when they tried to take the C Cube from the safe but Jon Spiro and his men were there, the reason I was confused is that Artemis is really smart so I thought that he knew that the Jon would be there. Even Jon said that Artemis was dumb for coming here. I then realized that Artemis knew he would be there so he could trap him. I like that Mulch helped them and on their previous adventures. I like that Commander Julius Root was watching the city and heard a disruption that turned out to be Artemis and then asked Holly to go look at it. I like him because it shows he takes care of his city.

I don’t like the character named Jon Spiro because (1) he stole the C Cube from Artemis and (2) he is a very mean character and is also a menace. I also hate Jon Spiro’s bodyguard named Arno Blunt. I like how Artemis programmed his C Cube because he opened it by using his voice. I also like that Artemis put an Eternity Code to protect his C Cube from being hacked. I loved reading Jon Spiro trying to hack his C Cube and failing. I like that Artemis had a plan for every single move. He even told Jon Spiro that when he tried to get the C Cube but failed because Jon was there, he said he knew that was going to happen. I liked that Artemis was cool and the first time Jon Spiro met Artemis they had a battle and stole Artemis’s C Cube and said 10“Isn’t Artemis a girl name,” but the next time they met Artemis said “Yeah it is generally a girl’s name but it means hunter just liked I hunted you” which is cool thing to say and a way of saying that he deserved his name. I really like the character Commander Root but I just wish that he could have thought just a bit more about the mind-wiping on Artemis. It didn’t say anything about Artemis somehow going to get his memories but I am sure that he will cause after all he is a criminal mastermind. This book was very good in my opinion.

The book "Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident" by the New York Times #1 Bestselling Author Eoin Colfer was a good book to read. One part of the book is when they are in the Arctic Circle which is where Artemis Fowl Sr. was said to gone missing and also presumed dead, they got near the place where Artemis Fowl Sr. was held captive and in a coma when Butler said they should go back and find a new strategy because they could get killed as these people would kill them on sight, Artemis said that they were so close that he was not going to give up the mission to rescue his father. Although he said that they were forced to go another way. Artemis was looking for his father for two years and then when he got a message that his father had been kidnapped, he was more determined than ever. He even agreed to helping the fairies. Because Artemis has some history with the fairies since he kidnapped Holly Short so he could ransom for fairy gold. I later found out that Artemis did this because he loves his father and tried to get an expedition with the fairy gold. Butler is a good person and is very loyal and if Artemis is in danger, his number one instinct is to help Artemis and he doesn’t care if he gets severely injured and only cares about saving Artemis and I like that but I still feel bad for him cause he has to follow Artemis in all of his shenanigan things like helping him in kidnapping a fairy in which Artemis did in the first book of the series.

I like that Opal Koboi got to be the new villain and had the chance to show how good she is at being a villain. Opal Koboi turned out to be in four books of the series which is half of the series since there are eight books. Meaning that she was a primary villain and made the book better because it said she had an IQ over 300. She really proved that she had an IQ over 300 by making smart moves in her attack like it was like a Chess game. Artemis risked his life while he was helping the fairies with their problems like running towards a train and getting inside it because he had never been trained to do that. When I read it, I thought “Wow, Artemis has never been athletic” but when I saw that Holly Short used all her magic to heal him and passed out. When Holly woke up she slapped Artemis and well, he kind of deserved it. He was really tired when he got back home and all he did was work in front of his computer. He also went inside Koboi Laboratories when Opal Koboi was leading a Goblin Rebellion against the LEPRecon Unit. His computer was also the reason they stopped the rebellion because the centaur Foaly used his computer to reveal that Cudgeon betrayed her. This showed that Artemis would do anything to save one of the few people in the world that he loves who is his father. Although Artemis risked his life, I don’t think it was a risk like a life-or-death risk but just a risk to get the fairies to help him save his father. Honestly the Goblin Rebellion was cool and I think that if Opal Koboi would just ignore the video Foaly showed her that made her scream, the Goblin Rebellion would turn out successful. I am not siding with Opal but her plan was pretty good. I like the rivalry between Foaly and Opal.

I am pretty surprised that the fairies actually helped Artemis go to the Arctic Circle because I thought that the People (Elves, Dwarves, Pixies, Gnomes, Gremlins, Goblins, Sprites, and Demons) were still mad for taking Captain Holly Short of the LEPRecon Unit. Holly was also the one of the best in the rank of Captain. Commander Julius Root even asked her if she wanted to rank up to Major but she refused. If Opal had not started her Goblin Rebellion then the fairies would very certainly not help him or they could have found another deal to help him. Maybe if they had not defended against Opal and save his father first, maybe Artemis would betray them and not help them stop Opal. Mulch is a good criminal because when they were breaking into Koboi Laboratories, he was good at finding a way to break in. I was surprised how easily Opal gets tantrums and gets really mad. When Artemis Sr. lost his leg my mouth was open but when he got healed, I was surprised to see that he was a kind-hearted because he was his own Criminal Empire.

Celeraka

Once upon a time in a faraway land there was a boy named Celeraka and he lived in a huge castle but his mean stepmother whose name was Elleralla made him live in the dungeon. Celerakas mother died when she gave birth to him. He only had his father until he turned 10. His father thought he needed a mother so he married Elleralla who acted like a good mother. She always helped Celeraka but inside she was planning on being mean to him when his father was dead. When his father died from a heart attack, her true inner-self, cold and cruel, came and made Celeraka live in the dungeon all by himself. Celeraka’s stepmother always made him wear ragged clothes all the time and Elleralla didn’t buy him clothes. He only had one ragged piece of clothing and one pair of pants. If his clothes got smaller his stepmother made him personally stretch it. She made him use his bare hands and stretch it. If he complained that it was hard, Celeraka’s stepmother scolded him and told him to continue making it bigger. Celeraka had two step brothers who were both mean and cruel, the names of his step brothers were Shallera and Stallera who both hated Celeraka. Elleralla made Celeraka do all the chores and she didn’t make Shallera and Stallera do anything at all. Shallera and Stallera got whatever they wanted, dresses, games and toys. The chores that she made Celeraka do was walk the dogs for at least a mile and come back, wash the dishes which were at least two feet high, and if she was mad she would make him clean the house like 15 times. Celeraka's stepmother gave Shallera and Stallera chores which she never did except when Celeraka was walking the dogs. When Shallera and Stallera got chores, they would wait for Celeraka to finish walking the dogs and then make him do their chores.

One day when Celeraka was cleaning the house for the 4th time because his stepmother got mad at him for only walking the dogs only ¾ of a mile and not fully walking the dogs a mile, he heard a knock on the door and went to see what it was. When she opened the door she saw a man wearing a suit and tie who said, “This is an invitation to meet the princess and challenge her to the game.” Celeraka thanked the man and went to where his stepmother was playing Monopoly with Shallera and Stallera. Before Celeraka opened the door, he took a deep breath and wished his stepmother would not scold him and make him go back to cleaning the house. “Stepmother, I am very sorry for disrupting your game but I just got an invitation to go to the carnival,” said Celeraka. “Nobody wants to go to a carnival,” said Stallera. Celeraka then said, “It also says the Princess is also going to challenge whoever goes to the carnival.” Stallera and Shallera both were flabbergasted and said, “Can we go mother please?” “We are both good at games and we really want to meet the Princess.” Elleralla thought about this and then replied with, “You can both go.” Celeraka wanted to go to the carnival but he was so scared his stepmother would scold him and he asked in a low voice, “May I go to the carnival?” His stepmother looked at him and replied, “Sure, why not?” Celeraka was so happy that he immediately ran outside the door and started cleaning. Even though he was only supposed to clean the house 10 times, he did it 20 times because he could not thank his stepmother enough. Stallera complained and whined to his mother when Celeraka left, “Why did you let him go mother?” “I am going to make him do a lot of chores so he can’t go,” answered Elleralla. Stallera and Shallera were in the middle of complaining until they heard this. They both stopped and looked at each other then at their mother and then smirked all the way to their eyes and then laughed like a wild animal.

The next day when Celeraka finished walking the dogs, he went to his room which was the basement. He went to the closet and there was a suit and tie and he thought,” My stepmother actually let me do something for once which was not cleaning.” He was so surprised by his stepmom that she let him go to the carnival, he almost could not believe it. He went to his stepmother and had all the confidence in the world that his stepmother would let him go to the carnival and asked, “Can I get ready for the carnival?” His stepmother looked at him like he was crazy and replied, “After you clean the house 15 times and walk with the fish at least 1 mile.” He was shocked and he complained by saying, “We don’t even have a fish!” Ellerella said, “Well, go to the pet store and get one and then walk with it, oh and if there is only a little bit of food on the dishes then you can’t go to the carnival.” “Everytime you clean the house it has to be perfectly clean and every single thing has to be cleaned and organized,” said his stepmother. “Bu…bu…but…” stammered Celeraka. “You are not going to the carnival if you don’t clean the house and organize it,” said Elleralla. “The house is already clean, why do I have to clean the house 15 times!” yelled Celeraka but Elleralla said, ”Oh, wait I made a mistake, I meant to tell you to clean the house 50 times. Elleralla left the room and Celeraka started to cry. He was so mad that his stepmother made him clean the house 50 times that he wanted to destroy the world. He thought, “Oh well, I guess I will never be able to meet the princess and I guess I will just have to clean the house.” He started cleaning and soon got tired on the 34th time he was cleaning the house and started napping. He was dreaming about going to the carnival and meeting the princess. When he woke up, there was a strange man with a hat with a snake attached to a mouse who was running from an eagle and they were on planet Jupiter.

“I am your fairy godfather,” said the strange man in a deep voice. “I am Shimarella,” said the strange man. “Are you really my fairy godfather,” asked Celeraka who was clearly confused and his voice was like he needed answers in a few seconds and he was going to get mad a lot if he didn’t get the answers. “Yes, I am your fairy godfather,” said Shimarella. Celeraka didn't know what to think of his ‘fairy godfather’ because he just woke up and he just heard the man say that his name was Shimarella and you don’t hear that every single day. “Well, what are you doing here?” “I am no one special,” said Celeraka. “I saw your dream about going to the carnival and saw that your stepmother didn’t let go, so I came to help,” said Shimarella. “How are you going to help me?” asked Celeraka and then asked, “You just have a weird hat that has a snake attached to a mouse who is running from an eagle and they were on planet jupiter.” The strange godfather seemed to be offended by Celeraka's words but he said, “You’ll see how I’ll help you.” Celeraka just stared at his fairy godfather like he was crazy. Shimarella waved his hand and a staff came out of nowhere and into his hands. He made the grass make a carriage from a tree and he made the grass make the dogs into horses. “You see how I helped you right?” Asked the strange man. “Yeah I do, I’ll go get my suit and tie," said Celeraka. He went to get it but it was way too small and he was devastated. “Oh dear,” thought Celeraka. “I can help you,” said Shimarella. He waved his staff and he made the suit and tie Celeraka’s size and it looked way better than the old one. “Thank you,” said Celeraka. He quickly put it on but he didn’t tighten his tie and it was very loose but Celeraka didn’t know that. Shimarella told him that the magic would end 1 second after 12:01. Celeraka thought that it was a strange time but he still promised he would come back before that time. “I can’t believe I actually got to go to the carnival,” thought Celeraka.

They got the carnival and when the princess saw him, she immediately went to him and danced with him. Celeraka’s step brothers were furious that the princess chose to dance with him and not them. Everyone tried to beat the princess at the game but nobody could do it. When Celeraka tried to win the game, he actually managed to beat her and everyone was impressed including the princess. He looked at the clock and it was 12:00 O'clock, he remembered what his fairy godfather said and ran all the way back home but he dropped his tie just when he started running. At exactly 12:01 and one second, all his clothes turned back into ragged clothes and saw that his carriage and horses turned back into a tree and dogs. As the days went by and the princess kept thinking about the boy she was dancing with, the princess wanted to time travel all the way back to the time she was at the carnival with Celeraka but the princess knew that it was impossible to do that. She went to the carnival hoping to find anything that the boy wore that night when they were at the carnival. She looked for hours and was determined to find at least a shoe print. When it was 12:00 am the princess thought all hope was lost until she started going back to her castle. The princess found the tie around the gate and said, “I will marry whoever fits in it perfectly and looks the best in it like the boy who was dancing with me.” She looked for days and days but no one fit it. She looked day and night and was determined to find him. It was either too long or short on the boys she tried it on and it looked horribly ugly. She finally went to Celeraka’s huge castle and both of Celeraka’s step brothers tried their best to put it on perfectly but it was not perfect. Shallera even tried to stretch the tie to make it bigger. It worked but it shrinked back to its normal size. Celeraka went to see what Shallera and Stallera were trying to do so hard and were sweating for the first time in their life. He saw the tie and asked if he could try it on. “Why should it fit him? He is not handsome at all,” said Stallera. “Let him have a chance to try it on,” said the princess. Finally, Celeraka tried it and it fit perfectly. Celeraka’s stepmother and step brothers were so jealous and furious that it fit that when they stomped on the floor, it destroyed the windows because they were so mad. The princess married Celeraka and they lived happily ever after.

I loved the book "Fire and Ice" by Shannon Hale because Rollan manages to tell and convince Essix, his spirit animal, in passive state (making your spirit animal a tattoo on your body) which he couldn't until the end of this book, while his other three friends and his mentor could do. Putting your spirit animal in passive state in the series is not something you can do right away. He managed to put his spirit animal, Essix, in passive state because he gave her a portion of his jerky for the day even when his stomach protested. He and his friends were also very brave against a vicious polar bear that was stuck in ice for a long time and was not thinking like herself.

I liked that Rollan reunited with his mother who had abandoned him, but I didn't like that his mother was being controlled and was working for the wrong side. I liked that when the Conquerors(Enemy) got the talisman of Suka the Polar Bear, Rollan didn't want to let it be on the enemies side and wanted to get it back, but his friends said that the Conquerors already took it away with them. This act by Rollan showed that he was very mad because they worked hard to get that talisman and the Conquerors just took it. I overall loved this book.
